Aug.07.2009		Events in Latvia dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the Baltic Way Latvian Ministry of Foreigh Affairs together with the Latvian National Commission for UNESCO has created and regullarly updates a list of event devoted or developed in order to commemorate and celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Baltic Way and its inscription upon the UNESCO Memory of the World International Register.

Feb.12.2007		INTERNATIONAL AMATEUR ARTS FESTIVAL for persons with intellectual disabilities The Festival “SOLIS” takes place once every two years in Riga and has become a tradition for persons with intellectual disabilities. The main objective of the festival is to contribute to the children, teenagers and adults amateur art activities quality. The fifth festival will take place in Riga from the 10th to 12th of August, 2007 in Riga, Latvia.

Starptautiskais kultûru tuvinâðanâs gads

2010. gads pçc UNESCO iniciatîvas pasludinâts par Starptautisko kultûru tuvinâðanâs gadu.

Starptautiskâ kultûru tuvinâðanâs gada pamatâ ir UNESCO Konstitûcijâ ierakstîtais mçríis – veicinât miera kultûru pasaulç ar savstarpçja dialoga palîdzîbu izglîtîbas, zinâtnes, kultûras un komunikâciju un informâciju jautâjumos. UNESCO visâ pasaulç sevi ir pierâdîjusi kâ nozîmîgâko starpvaldîbu organizâciju miera uzturçðanâ un starpkultûru dialoga iespçjamîbas veicinâðanâ, balstoties uz cieòu pret kultûru atðíirîbâm, interesi izzinât kultûru daudzveidîbu un centieniem saglabât cilvçces atmiòu un tâs materiâlo un nemateriâlo kultûras mantojumu kâ instrumentus un pierâdîjumu mierîgai lîdzâspastâvçðanai.

Starptautiskais kultûru tuvinâðanâs gads ir ietvars savstarpçjo attiecîbu un komunikâcijas izkopðanai, kas balstîta uz savstarpçju sapratni, cieòu, iecietîbu un ieinteresçtîbu kultûru izpausmju daudzveidîbâ, pasaules izziòâ un attîstîbâ, tâdçjâdi vçlreiz apliecinot UNESCO dibinâðanas mçríu un darbîbas aktualitâti arî ðodien. 2010. gadâ UNESCO svinçs savu 65. gadadienu.
